Desk Watch (29/01/10)

The best way to judge a student is by their desk so heres mine:

I'm hoping by the end of next week there will be a lot more interesting thing on there for me to show you.

Artist Statement

I am a glass artist, designer maker. I draw my inspiration from architecture, and the ever-changing skylines of towns and cities. I use a lot of photography to record the “here and now”.

My work is very geometrical; I feel this is inspired by my interest in mathematical shapes and forms that get thrown together in the process of creative architectural design. I admire the architect Zaha Hadid for her exciting angular creations.

As I specialise in Kiln casting the glass artists I aspire to are Hannah Kippa and Colin Reid, because of their interesting forms and the way they have used texture with flat polished surfaces to make the texture stand out to create beautiful pieces of work.
